We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support across multiple business areas, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the company’s interests in a dynamic Upstream Oil & Gas environment.

🎯 Purpose of the Role

Provide legal advice and support to different areas of the company — including Operations, Procurement, Public Affairs, HR, and HES — covering regulatory matters, contract negotiation, litigation management, compliance, and government-related issues.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

📑 Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including confidentiality, transportation, and oil & gas sales contracts.
⚖️ Provide legal guidance on regulatory and operational matters related to the Upstream Oil & Gas business.
🤝 Support commercial and operational teams in day-to-day business activities.
🏛 Manage government-related matters and regulatory compliance.
📂 Coordinate and manage litigation and claims with external counsel.
🌱 Advise on environmental matters, including decommissioning and abandonment activities.
👥 Provide legal support on labor law and HR matters.
🛡 Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ethics standards, and anti-corruption regulations.
📊 Support the development and implementation of internal policies and compliance programs.

Requisitos

✔ Law Degree with postgraduate studies.
✔ 10+ years of legal experience, ideally in top-tier law firms.
✔ At least 5 years advising Upstream Oil & Gas businesses or in-house in E&P companies.
✔ Strong understanding of legal, operational and commercial aspects of the energy industry.
✔ Fluent English and Spanish (written and spoken).
✔ Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills.
✔ Ability to provide business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
✈ Availability to travel to field locations when required.
